Ooh, this is exciting... The film director Alejandro Jodorowsky is one of my artistic heroes. I've written about him extensively and even interviewed him once (albeit via email). Sadly, though, he hasn't made a film in over 23 years. Jodorowsky, you see, is something of an uncompromising artist and not the sort of four-quadrant guy who panders to test audiences or studio types. Over the years there have been a few false starts: a sort-of sequel to his seminal classic El Topo almost got off the ground (but didn't), and - more recently - David Lynch was set to produce [...]
